NER Receives Education Award from the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association
JERSEY CITY, N.J., June 16, 2011 — The FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) presented an Education Award to the National Equipment Register (NER) at the FBI-LEEDA 20th Annual Executive Training Conference, held recently in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Education Award recognizes NER as “an outstanding example of corporate America giving back to our communities.” Tom Stone, executive director of FBI-LEEDA, presented the award, which commended NER’s efforts to provide regional training on heavy equipment theft to equipment owners, insurers, and, through the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), law enforcement personnel across the United States. The award was accepted by David Shillingford, president of ISO Crime Analytics, on behalf of NER.
“It is an honor to be recognized and receive the education award from FBI-LEEDA for the commitment NER has made to provide training and education to those affected by the equipment theft problem,” said Shillingford. “The training day is invaluable because law enforcement, equipment owners, and their insurers leave the regional summits with a better understanding of the challenges their counterparts face and will have learned ways in which they can all assist one another, both directly and indirectly.”
NER sponsors one-day Regional Equipment Theft Summits in collaboration with FBI-LEEDA and the NICB. The summits are hosted by local law enforcement agencies across the country and are designed to bring law enforcement, equipment owners and dealers, insurance personnel, and agents and brokers together to network, discuss the equipment theft problem, and help them be better prepared to join the fight against equipment theft. Since 2005, NER has sponsored 45 summits.
